KCGM is committed to the recruitment and career development of tertiary educated professionals. Our Graduate Development Program provides participants with the opportunity to develop their technical competence and professional expertise through a combination of on-the-job experience, role specific training, and tailored mentoring.
Graduates also have the opportunity to develop cross-functional understandings by spending time with other Graduates across KCGM’s operations. The Program covers a variety of disciplines across the operation, including:
- Geology
- Metallurgy
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Environmental Science
- Mechanical & Electrical Engineering
- Industrial Hygiene
Graduates are recruited for a 2 year development programme. At the conclusion of this term, subject to satisfactory work performance, safety record and availability of a position, graduates will be offered a permanent role with KCGM.

The Graduate positions offered are Kalgoorlie residential roles. If required, relocation to Kalgoorlie, including up to 4 weeks accommodation, will be offered to successful applicants.
We advertise for positions on the Graduate Program from February each year through major newspapers, SEEK, career expos and our web site. To apply, you must have recently graduated, or currently studying in a relevant discipline.

KCGM’s is committed to supporting the local community and the mining industry, and supports five scholarships at WASM in Kalgoorlie.
These scholarships are for the duration of an undergraduate course (to a maximum of four years) to assist future mining professionals financially and developmentally with the provision of $6,000 per annum, paid vacation work and mentoring opportunities.
These scholarships are offered to students undertaking a KCGM industry approved undergraduate degree at WASM in Kalgoorlie including, but not limited to, Geology, Metallurgy, Engineering (Mining, Mechanical, Electrical, Geotechnical), OHS, Process Control and Business (Accounting, Human Resources).
Upon successful completion of the degree, the Scholarship holder will be considered for the two year KCGM Graduate Program.

Selection is dependent upon the assessment of academic performance and general aptitude, based upon the documents submitted with the application and the previous year examination results.
