KCGM is committed to ensuring that our workforce is highly skilled and trained. Apprenticeships are one way to ensure that we have the skills for the future.
Apprenticeships are offered in our Open Pit Maintenance area in the following disciplines:

• Heavy duty diesel mechanic
• Boilermaker

These positions are advertised in September with a view to commencing employment in early January. Applicants will need to demonstrate a mechanical aptitude and interest, a proven good record of attendance and a commitment to education. Mature age applicants with a mechanical background are also encouraged to apply. These are not the only apprenticeships KCGM supports.
In our Mineral Processing/Engineering Department there is a relationship between KCGM and Roche (JR) Engineering for the ongoing employment of twelve apprentices a year.
